This article, written by W. Gibbs and S. Lyall, deals with the 2007 Nobel Peace prize which was awarded to the former Vice President Al Gore.

Indeed, Mr. Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Chance act against global warming. Mr. Gore launched a film named An Inconvenient Truth which focuses on him and his travels in support of his efforts to educate the public about the severity of the climate crisis. In the slideshow Gore reviews the scientific opinion on climate change, discusses the politics and economics of global warming, and describes the consequences he believes global climate change will produce if the amount of human-generated greenhouse gases are not significantly reduced in the very near future. A center point of the film is his examination of the annual temperature and CO2 levels for the past 650,000 years in Antarctic.

For the chairman of the peace committee, the Nobel was not meant to be a “kick in the leg to anyone”. This sentence shows that this prize does not include some political values. But it also encourages all countries to pay attention for the problem of global warming, and in particular for Americans because the Bush administration didn’t ratify the Kyoto protocol in 1998 whereas United States represent a quarter of emissions of greenhouse gases.

The Nobel reward either scientists who take part on the climate change. Indeed, their job involves a lot of sacrifices : they travel all over the world, they do not have a real home life and they must participate to boring conferences.

According to Mr. Gore, global warming is a very significant problem for all countries of the Earth. The global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °C during the last 100 years due to strongly by greenhouse gases. This growth would lead to a sea level rise, an increasing intensity of extreme weather events like hurricanes, a retreat of glacier, a species extinction… Every people must be feel concerned by this problem. People can use buses or bicycle instead of their car when it is possible ; take care that they switch off the light when they leave a room… Although all political leaders should tackle the problem together for have truly positive effects.

"climate chance" est une jolie faute de frappe.

"launched a film" n'est peut-être pas ce qu'il faut dire. Je ne sais pas ce qu'il a fait exactement, mais je suppose que "he directed a film", "he sponsored a film", "he financed a film", "he worked on a film", "he took the initiative of making a film"

"this prize does not include some political values" n'est pas très compréhensible. Je suppose que c'est "the prize was awarded without any considerations for his party" ou "the prize was awarded to him but this is not an agreement to some of his political views"

"all countries" --> "every country", "every state", "every government"
"all countries of the Earth" --> "every country on the globe", "every country on earth", "every country on the planet". Le mot "earth" ne prend pas de majuscule.

"to pay attention for" --> "to pay attention to"

"due to strongly by" --> "primarily due to", "mainly caused by"

"of glacier" --> "of glaciers"

"a species extinction" --> "extinction of species"
